Pinterest: Dream Home

Sorry about that little break from the blog. oops. With all this moving and stuff, I seem to lose track of the day. Its all about working, getting home and packing stuff up. The apartment looks like a mad house w/ boxes and clothes EVERYWHERE! ugh it is making me CRAZY! (crazier than usual if that is possible). I can't wait til I am all moved into the new place and can finally enjoy where I live again.

I decided today I would share some of my favorite Pinterest finds that I have on my board titled "Dream House". It seems fitting since I am talking about moving doesn't it? Pinterest allows you to make believe you have no budget so no dream is too big.
In love w/ this house
I hope to live somewhere where I can have a LARGE house w/ an equally large yard. What is the point of have a 7,00 sq ft home on a tiny piece of land? Silly isn't it? I love houses w/ lots of windows and of course lots of landscaping.

Big & Blue
Before I show you how I would LOVE my house to look on the inside I think that back yard should get a little attention. Dontchathink? Growing up in SoFla, I was around water ALL THE TIME. Learned to swim at a young age and was obsessed with being in the pool. But enough about that. I would not be able to own a home that did not have an awesome pool (or at least the space to build one.) There are so many amazing pools on Pinterest but here is one that I LOVE just because it is HUGE and looks oh-so-inviting. Plus the house is FAH- MAZING

Swoon over the fireplace
Now we can finally go inside this "little" dream house of mine. One thing I can't stand is feeling cramped in a home. I have lived in apartments for the last five years so I know what small spaces are. Barely having room for a bed and dresser..disaster! I want an open floor plan in my home. Where I can have large parties and not feel like it is too crowded. I don't want the dining room to feel like it is too close to the kitchen or that it is invading the space of the living room. SPACE SPACE SPACE! Biggest thing when it comes to any house, in my opinion. I love that in each of these pics, the upstairs overlooks the floor below. It just makes the house seem more centered around the living room, which I love. Plus the stairways in each of these homes is to DIE FOR! So elegant but not too over the top at the same time.

The last little touches (don't want to bore you with pics of every single room because we would be here forever!) are just things I would love to have in my home.
Roxi's Room
For those that know me (and maybe even if you don't), you know I am obsessed with my doggie Roxi. Love her soo much. She is so spoiled ( it is like having a child) so when I saw that little doggie room under the stairs idea to the left, I knew that someday I would have to have something similar. A little space where she could chill out, be out of the way but still part of the action.

In the next couple days I am making a vanity (old dresser, cheap mirror and the help of the boyfriend). Very simple but the vanity to the left would be even better because it is built in into the bathroom already. Convenient but can easily be hidden if need be.
Bed looks so comfy

The remaining picture is simply showcasing the color scheme that I love for a bedroom. Right now my bathroom is the same colors and my bedroom has some of the same elements so I want to try to use this as an example to make my new room POP w/ color.

I am off to continue working ( love a job where I can blog, browse FB & Twitter all day) and hopefully knock some items off my to-do list. ( cover the dining room chairs in new fabric and clean up the house a bit). Happy Tuesday to y'all and

Currently I am...

Side note: Yesterday I wrote a very lengthy post about Fake vs. Real. I open my blog today and it is NO WHERE to be found! Not happy about that. (I hope someone had the chance to read it). Have to be more careful when I am editing I guess; must have deleted it on accident. OOPS! But I  must move on because it is FRIDAY!

Since this is the end of the week, I decided I would give some updates and talk about some of my faves this week! I have seen the pretty Katie from Keep Calm & Carry On do a post kinda like this and loved the idea so I am going to "borrow" it! So let's get started.Currently I am:

Reading: If you count Facebook/Twitter updates as reading than I would say that but at the moment no book has caught my fancy. (Any ideas are welcomed!) A co-worker gave me a copy of Dave Ramsey's "Total Money Makeover" (since he use to do a talk show on our radio station) and I have been flipping through it when I am bored. Not the best read but has some helpful tips! I think I am going to start to read the "Fifty Shades" series soon. (I know I am so behind!)

Listening to: Working @ a radio station makes it hard to not hear music all the time. It is either MyCountry (104.9 FM for all the Gainesville readers) or Party (99.5 FM). If its not music than its the random conversations of co-workers, the sound of the printer or the phone ringing constantly!

Wearing: At the moment I am wearing work clothes. Nothing too exciting. (Pant dress pants, a cute green top and some black flats). But I am loving this new dress I bought from..*Shock* WALMART! It was only $15 and I love it for summer.Worn it out two times already and its so great for the hot weather and can be dressed up or down depending on occasion.

Cooking/Baking: I haven't cooked anything too special in quite awhile. The kitchen is kind of in a frenzy while I prepare to move so my cooking is limited. I did make a very yummy chicken noddle soup the other day! So quick and easy ; it was just perfect for dinner. I am hoping to cook 4 nights/ week (At least) when I move. I know so much $$$ is spent when we go out to eat and it is not as healthy as eating home cooked meals.

Craving : A co-worker had this package of Brookside Dark Chocolate Pomegranate. I just had to try. AMAZING! Fruit and chocolate all in one?! Perfect! I have to get my own bag so I don't keep stealing hers.Talking about it makes me want it right now!

Loving: Life. It is as simple as that. It seems like everything is going smoothly and I couldn't be happier. I am so happy at my job, getting great support from my family, friends and amazing boyfriend. Having a normal routine (not working til 11pm some nights), allows me to get more done and to be much happier. Can't wait to see where life takes me next.

Looking forward to: Two big things are happening soon. In less than a week (5 days!) my BF moves to Gainesville! He lives in Ocala and even though its not that far of a drive, having him here is going to be so amazing. Second, I am moving to a new apartment in just 2 weeks! I will have a yard and more space than I do now so my pup, Roxi will be happy and I will be too.

Have a happy Friday, a great weekend and

You've got a friend in me

As I get older (at my old age of 23) I have started to notice that friendships seem to be few and far between. The ones that you have, hold on to because these will be the people that you spend the happiest of moments with. But make sure that not every person you meet becomes your "BFF". That's the recipe for disaster and no one needs that. I have been living in this city for almost 5 years (ekk time flies!) and I have had the pleasure to meet lots of different people (through school and work mostly). There are a small handful of those people that I am either still in contact with or even want to be in contact with. An even smaller bunch I consider friends. The friends I left back in my hometown after graduating high school are slowly becoming people that I used to know. I see updates on Facebook and I know little about their lives (not blaming them of course). I could have kept contact with them and make time to visit them, but when you move a couple hours away and life gets hectic, you slowly start to fill those spots with new friendly faces. And that is how life SHOULD be. We are expected to meet new people in each chapter of our life and to leave some of those people behind who don't belong in the next chapter. I can honestly say, I have done so and don't regret it one bit.

On the other hand, I have found it more and more difficult to find a "good friend". I worked in the hospitality industry for 3+ years (and still do it on the weekends) and was surrounded by peers my age every day. I hung out with co-workers on the regular, and these people turned into friends. Since I only see some of them 1-2 days/week..the time I spend with them outside of work is getting less and less. Working a typical 9-5 full time job is amazing but being surrounded by mostly males who are over the age of 30 makes it difficult to find a good friend to spend time with and confide in. Don't get me wrong, I have friends that I have known for years that no matter how long we are apart, the second we get in the same room, we are back to our silly ways. But after college, many people left Gainesville for "bigger and better things" and I decided to stay here for some time until I find a place that I would rather be. Those that stayed either have drifted apart for some reason (arguments, differences or just life changes) or I haven't given the effort to stay friends with them. I know that the blame isn't solely on the environment I work in or on other people; I know have to change my attitude to be a better friend. I want to reconnect with old friends and hopefully meet some new ones along the way.

I have heard that taking up certain hobbies (going to the gym, joining a club, etc.) has been beneficial in meeting people for solely friendships (not looking for boyfriend, I have one of those!) What are your takes on this? Have any ideas?

Social Media Overload

"I had this guy leave me a voice mail at work so I called him at home and then he e-mailed me to my Blackberry and so I texted to his cell and then he e-mailed me to my home account and the whole thing just got out of control. And I miss the days when you had one phone number and one answering machine and that one answering machine has one cassette tape and that one cassette tape either had a message from a guy or it didn't. And now you just have to go around checking all these different portals just to get rejected by seven different technologies. It's exhausting."
-He's Just Not That Into you (2009)

LOVE that movie BTW!

Social media has exploded lately! Facebook, Twitter, Instagram of course are the top contenders. But now there is Vine, Snapchat, and I think Myspace is even trying to make a come back. (NOT gonna happen). It's all so confusing! You have to go like something on FB, then follow someone on Twitter so that you can keep in contact, check out their pictures on IG (which are probably on FB and Twitter already) and that's ONLY THE BEGINNING! I feel as if I don't follow you on ALL your social media outlets, that we are not connected! How crazy is that?!  Don't get me wrong. I am on all of this sites and I check them regularly throughout the day. I believe that they are a great way to keep up with old friends and family that might live far away but sometimes I see the same picture 7 different times throughout the day and I read a status about a million times! Then there are those people that tell you a LITTLE bit too much info on the internet...that is a story for another day! Why can't we go back to just phone calls and texts? Wasn't that enough?

That being said..go check out my FB, Twitter, IG (all linked above) and send me some <3. I will send some back your way! Enjoy this beautiful day (hopefully it's not raining wherever you are) and..

Changing my Identity..

So this blog is no longer called "Chaos Defined" but instead it will be called.....

Cruisin' Through My Twenties!!

The main reason for the change was simple. " Chaos Defined" just didn't feel right. I wanted something that described me (20-something) but with a little twist. I was sitting on the couch, listening to FL/GA Line's "Cruise" when it just came to me! (It was that easy guys ;)). It shows how I am flying through my twenties and trying to take in as much of the real world as I can along the way. Hope ya'll like the new name and the blog face lift (new layout!).

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. It's been raining ALOT here in Gainesville but of course its sunny ALL DAY today when I'm stuck inside at work :( oh well. Be safe and have fun!

Well HELLO There! (Updates)

I started this blog over two years ago, wrote one silly post and then never came back. Hmm. Not a good start. But I read many blogs daily, and realize why I wanted to start blogging in the first place.

*You can express your personal feelings, with no one telling you what you CAN or CAN'T say. (well they may not like it but they can just stop reading).
*It's a place that people can come and learn more about you, maybe find an interesting recipe, place to visit or just read an interesting story.

Since I have written a post in over two years, I feel I started out with some UPDATES!
1. Graduated UF last May. It feels pretty amazing to be done with school (for now)!
( My best friend since 2nd grade & I striking a silly pose)
2. Started working at a broadcasting company last month and went part time as a server (working the weekends and still making good $$). Its a fun environment and working for a radio station has some great perks!
3. Met an amazing guy who truly shows me what it feels like to be in a healthy relationship. It's just the beginning but I am happy, loved and enjoying life w/ him!

I hope I can keep up with this blog and gain some knowledge on how to improve this little ol' blog.
