Why we work...

Taylor & Bonnie came up with this link-up a couple weeks ago. I may be too late to link-up but I still wanted to write about why my other half and I work.

We work because...

...he tells me I am gorgeous when I feel my ugliest. (Just woke up, hair a mess, no makeup and my eyes are barely open)

...makes sure to kiss me and tells me in loves me EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Even if I go to bed before he does or vice versa.

...is the PERFECT dad is our fur babies. Wakes up in the middle of the night to let Roo out, doesn't complain when she wants to come under the covers (and then go right back out) a million times a night. ( I know he will be a great "real" dad when the time comes)

...he decides where we go to eat, what movie we watch, what we do on the weekends etc. I can't make decisions for the life of me and even though it drives him crazy, he still does it.

...he admits he sucks at saving money and knows I am better at it. That's why I handle the family finances :)

...he doesn't like arguing and knows how to make me stop. He would rather admit he is wrong than fight with me for hours on end. Just make me smile and the fight stops.

...he knows how to make me laugh when I least expect it.

...he lets me try his food (even before he has even taken a bite)

...he surprises me with flowers on random Tuesdays just because.

....he is SOOO excited about surprising me for our anniversary and it makes me even more excited.

...plain & simple. He is my better half.

It may only be a year since we started dating but I have fallen head over heels in love with him and I can't wait to see where the future takes us. Its been a tough road but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Items I Can’t Live Without In My…

I saw this over at Hungry Meets Healthy and decided to fill in my own answers.

10 Items I Can't Live Without In My...

BEAUTY CABINET: Definitely mascara. It makes me look more awake even when I don't feel it. I have found my favorites to be either Maybelline the Falsies or Loreal Double Extend.

PURSE: This is a toss up between my wallet/clutch or my planner. Both are vital for my everyday life...

KITCHEN: Even though I haven't used it yet, I am going to say my blender. For some reason since I moved (not living with roomies anymore) I no longer had a blender. I decided to buy one last night and I am super excited about whipping up yummy smoothies soon!

ITUNES:  Obsessed in love with the new John Legend song "All of me"...his voice is amazing plus its such a beautiful love song. (Sidenote: If you don't follow his wife @chrissyteigen on twitter...you need to RIGHT NOW! She is gorgeous and HILARIOUS!)

CLOSET: Just bought a maxi skirt (wearing it as I type) and its so comfy! Its perfect dressed up for work or dressed down for running errands. I have been looking for one for quite some time but they were either were a) too pricey b) not long enough c) just didn't fit me right. This one is PERFECT!

LIBRARY: I love reading but haven't in quite sometime. I recently picked up some books from the thrift store that I want to start reading. I don't care if they're big time authors or little no names, I will read them if the plot keeps me interested.

HOME: Just purchased the Watermelon Lemonade & Grapefruit candles from Bath & Body Works... OMG! Amazingggg. I first saw the watermelon one when Erin posted about it months ago. I have been looking for it every since. I went to the mall this weekend, saw all the spring/summertime candles plus BOGO...I couldn't pass it up!

OFFICE: The company I work for is moving office buildings in the next couple months so instead of decorating my office space twice, I am holding off. But that doesn't mean I haven't started pinning ideas on Pinterest. (See below)
Desk Idea - almost too organized...km, what about 2 file cabinets with top on top of them?See Jane Work office supplies. They are fun and help keep you organized!

-Any of them listed above?

Life's little annoyances...

Driving to work today, I started thinking about all the little things that people do that annoy me. Mostly because about 25% them occurred on my drive to work. I figured, if they annoy me, they might annoy others and we can bond over our mutual annoyance. Sounds fun right?

LIFE'S LITTLE ANNOYANCES
source

1. People who don't use their turn signal
I am driving behind you, you slam on your brakes and decide that you want to turn. Let me try not to run into the back of you. Or the ones that are at a 4-way stop, are turning in front of you and you start to go because you think you both are going straight. Using that little turn signal that COMES WITH YOUR CAR would solve these problems.

2. Not stopping at a stop sign/ rolling through the stop
When I come up to a 4-way stop and you are coming up to the stop sign at 50 MPH, I am gonna be a little hesitant to go. When you come up to a stop sign and immediately start to pull out into traffic as if there is not a car in site, I will not feel bad if I run into you because you're an idiot!

3. No helmet for their passenger
When I see a couple on a motorcycle, scooter...whatever and the guy is wearing a nice fancy protective helmet (and usually a nice sporty motorcycle jacket) and your girlfriend has NOTHING to protect her, you're a dick. I am a little scared of motorcycles to start with. But if my BF every decided to get one, you better believe I would have my own helmet or that he would be letting me use his. This may be sexist but if you put a girl on the back of your bike, protect her please!
source

4. Being late
We are all late at some point in our lives. I get that. But when a person is late to an important meeting or just late on a daily basis, that's an issue. I know I don't sit in the big office at work but if I ran a business, I would sure as heck not allow my employees to constantly walk into the workplace 15, 20 or sometimes 45 mins. late! It shows that you don't care about your job (or if its a date, that you don't care about the person) and shows just how immature you are. (I have touched on this topic before but it really gets to me.)

5. Squeaky shoes
More specifically, when  I wearing them. I have a pair of sandals that squeak if its a little rainy out. Its the only thing I can hear when I wear them and it drives me crazy. If you have squeaky shoes and you're around me for a long period of time, I may snatch them off and throw them out a window. #sorrynotsorry

6. Cover stealer
You would thing that this would be my BF who takes them in the middle of the night. Nope. My dog likes to get under the covers and snuggle in between us. Not an issue. Until she wants to get out in the middle of the night and goes out from the bottom, pulling all the covers with her. Or when she sits on top of them and you can't pull them out from under her. Too many mornings waking up freezing my tush off.
source

7. Food smackers/ talking with you mouth full
Just no. Whether its gum, soup, or whatever else you can smack or slurp. It is disgusting. And talking when you just stuffed your mouth full is ever worse. Finishing chewing then speak. I can wait #noreallyican

8. Interrupters
If I am speaking, its most likely something important and I want you to pay attention. The second that you interrupt me, I know that you weren't listening to what I was saying and were just focusing on what you were going to say. RUDE. This brings me to my next little annoyance...

9. Rude people
I have mentioned it before, but I work at a radio station as a Sales Assistant. I answer the phones and get to deal with people that are not happy about something that was said on-air. #funtimes. I get it your irritated but a) I didn't say it so don't take it out on me b) just change the station if you don't like what you're hearing c) being a bitch to me is not going to solve the problem because I am sure as heck not going to tell management about a complaint when you're acting like a child (when truthfully you're old enough to be my granny). Learn manners. Yelling at me and getting irritated doesn't solve problems. Be a better communicator and then I will be more than happy to help you. (This applies to everyone, even outside of work)

10. Last but not least...people who LOVE to brag
Working with sales people, you understand the competitive nature of some people. To make $$, they must get clients to sign contracts. If we are talking about Sally's* client and how good of a job she is doing, you don't need to pipe in with how much $$ you're making the company. You already had your little 15 secs of fame; let someone else have it for a change. These are the same people that make every story about themselves. I am telling you about my sick dog and you make it about you somehow. I get it, you think you're amazing. I think you're annoying so please hush up.
(*Not her real name)

I know that some of these have to get on your nerves as well. There are daily annoyances to me and  I am trying to not let them get to me...but if I hear you smack your gum one more time...GRR!!

- How do you keep from going insane?

Friendships

We have all had our fair share of friendships. Some last a lifetime. Others are gone within a blink of an eye. You don't realize how important some of those friendships are until they're gone and others you must escape from before it brings you down. Some fall somewhere in the middle. I am here to discuss all of the above.

When someone asks me who my best friend is, I have to think for a second. Do I have just one? Absolutely not. My longest friend who I have known for 15+ years is of course my best friend. He has been there through the ups & downs. He knows WAYYY too much about me (and I about him). I may not speak to him every day or week but no matter the time apart, we always pick up where we left off. He will be the friend that is by my side when we are old and gray. No doubt about it.
But my bestie who I have know a little over 6 years is in the same boat. I have fought with her, cried with her and of course laughed with her. We have inside jokes and she is the sister I never had. Is one more important than the other? Of course not. I would be lost without either one of them.
Then of course there is my boyfriend. Is he my best friend? We have dated for almost a year. I haven't known him as long as the others. But he is my heart and soul. I tell him everything and he know secrets that no one else does (or ever will.)He is my other better half. He is my best friend no doubt about it.

That's the first category of friends. The ones you can't live without. The next are those that come into your life, make you smile, make you laugh but have either only been there a short time or just haven't yet made an impact. I would put the people that I have lost touch with in this category. We are friends but we don't bond like I do with my "best friends". Do I care about them? Of course. I have met so many great people while living in Gainesville but not every one of them can be considered a bestie. These are my work friends. We hang out, we have the best time together. We would do anything for them but we just aren't on the same level as I am with my BFFL's. Simple as that.

Then comes the last group of people. Those who are the main reason for writing this post. These are the people that come into your life for some reason and you immediately (or pretty darn quickly) realize that they shouldn't be there. Harsh? Maybe. But there are just some people that are better left out of your life than in it. Without naming names(call her Friend #1)...I dive a bit deeper.

One of those people is someone that I see a couple times a month. Do we work together? Maybe. A year ago, we were close. Hung out multiple times a week. We were going to live together  We were both at fault for our friendship ending. I will admit it. But the more time we spent apart, not talking, made me realize. I was a better person without her as a friend. I say this now, after not being "friends" for 6+ months because new details have come to light. I put the blame on myself for a long time. Thought I was a horrible person and was sad that I didn't have her in my life. I lost another friend (Friend #2 we shall call her) because of the situation. But when I found out that Friend #2 was no longer speaking with Friend #1...I realized I shouldn't feel this way. Friend #2 and I were going to live with this girl and now she was no longer speaking to BOTH of us. (Friend #2 has to live with her so I feel worse for her). I realized instead of putting the blame on ourselves, maybe Friend #1 was at fault for pushing us both away. I am now talking to Friend #2 and I am glad that I didn't lose her forever because of this. But what is the most confusing part of this is now Friend #1 tries to act nice to me when we are around each other. You threw away this friendship. You didn't want anything to do with me. Now I am content without you and now you want to play nice? No thank you. The funny thing is...it seems like each week she has a new "best friend" and she is always playing someone. I don't need fake people in my life . No one does. Now that I can see through the "fakeness", I know that I made the right decision by not fighting for our friendship and just leaving it alone.

Sorry for another rant but I felt that it needed to be said.

-Do you have more than one best friend?
-Do you have anyone in your life that maybe is bringing you down?

Weekend Recap

How is it Monday already? The weekends have been flying by lately and I can't say I am complaining .The reason being...the BF is away on the weekends so I am stuck on my own. Which sucks! I know what you're thinking...48 hours to yourself. What could be better?! When you're used to seeing someone everyday...its hard to be apart for a couple days. But I survived!
Here's how my weekend went:

FRIDAY NIGHT
After I got home from work...I did NOTHING! I was in bed by 9pm, playing on my phone, snuggled up with the pup. I usually go out with some friends on Friday but we weren't really feeling up to it and it felt nice to just go to bed early.
Isn't she cute?

SATURDAY
This is the first weekend I didn't have to work (or so I thought) in quite some time so I slept in, cleaned and ran some errands. I got some great deals on some new jeans, ate sushi (its been too long!) and finally purchased some coconut oil after reading so much about it. I LOVE IT! I have only used a couple times since then but the stuff is amazing & has so many uses! Go get you some if you haven't already.

SATURDAY NIGHT
After a day of running errands, I was in bed by 9pm again and asleep before 10pm. My mom called around 11pm (she goes out more than me which is sad!) so I woke up to talk to her. After that I quickly checked my email/social media and I am glad I did. Like I said, I had no shifts (I was none too happy) this weekend at my serving job. I put "auto pick up" on so if shift was released, I would get first pick. When I last checked earlier in the evening, nothing was available. When I checked again, I had a morning shift. Good thing I checked or I would have slept right through it.

SUNDAY
I worked from 11am-5pm, made some good $$ so that was win all around.
After work I went and visited my grandma. I live so close and need to get in the habit of seeing her more because I always feel better when I do.

SUNDAY NIGHT
Sean got home a little after 9pm. Since I can't watch a show when its not from the beginning (and we don't have DVR ugh!) we decided to go to Sean's work, have a couple drinks and then watch the encore of Walking Dead at 11pm.
We met up with some of his coworkers, had a couple beers and were home just in time!

That's how I spent my weekend. Happy Sean is back { until this Friday :( } and that work is picking up a bit so I am staying busy!

-How was your weekend?
-Do you watch Walking Dead? What did you think of the mid-season premiere?

Confessional Friday- Getting to know you MORE!

Well I haven't posted since last "Confessional Friday" but work as been busier but I made sure to come back for another round and this week Leslie wants to get to know us a little bit MORE!

1. What's your middle name?
Elizabeth ( It's my grandma middle name too)

2. If you could live anywhere else in the world where would you live?

I would love to live in a big city (New York, LA etc. ) if it wasn't so expensive. I also would LOVE to live in Australia for sometime. My cousin lives there now so that's a good excuse to go there right?
Swoon...its so pretty!

3. Tell us about your guilty pleasures.
Trashy reality TV ( Real Housewives, Real World, Kardashians..ugh) I love to hate it!
Plus...food that is HORRIBLE for me. Greasy burgers and fries. Sweets galore...yum!

4. What do you like best about your job? If you weren't doing that, what career would you have pursued?
Picking one thing about my job that I love would be hard. I would have to say one of my favorites is the laid back environment. It's not a stuffy, office job that is the same routine everyday. You never know what to expect. I work in radio so everyone here is sooo funny and just always up for a good time. That brings me to the second best thing...the people! I have worked in hospitality for the past 4 years...and being around 20-somethings (yes I am one of those), still in school...makes me feel like I am in high school. DRAMA! I come here and its just so carefree and fun! But if I wasn't doing this...I would want to be doing something similar. I love PR and telecommunications. I love going to a job that feels more like fun than an actual job so I would definitely need that in whatever job I ended up at.

5. Five items you'd grab during a fire. (People and pets don't count. Those are a given.)

Wow...very hard. I would grab my purse because that has all the important necessities that are hard to replace. Definitely my koala bear that is tucked in the closet. I have had it since I was 5 years old and it holds a special place in my heart. If I wasn't wearing any jewelry I would make sure to grab my grandma's rings and the necklaces that my boyfriend got for me. (That counts as one thing right?) I would also make sure to grab the memory book I have of pictures that sits in my living room. Lastly would be my phone so I can call someone about the fire...right?

6. Marathon running...something you'd like to pursue or just plain crazy?

Just plain crazy. I am not a runner. I don't know if I ever will be a runner. I don't think even if I took it up tomorrow I would ever think about being in a marathon. But BIG PROPS to those women and men that do it!

7. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Hmm.. my grandmas spaghetti and meatballs with pine nut salad. Plus her chocolate pie. yum! She hasn't made it in years but I still think about it all the time!

8. Last person you spoke to...

Joey, the office manager at work. His desk is right next to mine so its hard not to strike up a conversation.

9. Favorite childhood toy

These questions are tough! I was never really into Barbies but I LOVED baby dolls. Cabbage patch, American girl...you name it...I had it! I loved playing "house"

10. Breakfast cereal of choice

I was never allowed to eat sugary, fruity cereal growing up (I was a cheerios, raisin bran, shredded wheat kind of kid) so if I was allowed I would have either Lucky Charms or Fruit Loops! Yum!

That's it for today...hopefully you learned a little bit MORE about me!

Confessional Friday

For the first time I am participating in Leslie's Confessional Friday and this week is a special edition...getting to know one another!

1. Your name:
 Kenyon

2. Where you're from:
Born and raised in Homestead ,FL (just south of Miami). Went away to school at the University of Florida (in Gainesville, FL). I graduated in the spring of 2012 and have decided that Gainesville is my home for at least a couple more years.

3. What do you do with your days? (Work, SAHM, student, etc.)
I work full-time as a sales assistant at a broadcast company. We own a couple radio stations in the area so there are always events to go to and its never the same each day. Probably one of the best jobs I have ever had and the potential to move up in the company is a major PLUS. Living in a college town, I still find nights where I am at the clubs feeling like a student again ( I mean I am ONLY 23) but there are nights that I am a total homebody; in bed by 9:00 watching TV with the boyfriend (and of course my pup snuggled in between)

4. Tell us about your family (photos are great!)
My mom is my best friend hands down. She raised my older brother and I by herself because my parents divorced when I was 7. My brother, Alex, is four years older than me and just recently moved to New York with his girlfriend. ( Going from Key West to cold NY was a big change).  My family is ALL very close. We aren't a big family but we sure are crazy! Growing up, all my aunts/uncles/cousins lived within 30 mins of my house which was one of the main reasons we were so close. We may have all moved around a bit now but we still remain just as connected and I wouldn't trade it for the world!

5. What are your dreams and goals?
Now that I am done with school, I want to succeed in the workplace and then eventually settle down and start a family. Simply put...I just want to be happy.

6. Why did you start blogging?
I started this blog in 2011 because I thought it would be fine to have a place I could write about my life..kinda like a journal. I wrote one little post and then didn't come back for TWO YEARS! I don't post every day but I trying really hard to get into it and hope one day to have a good group of bloggin' friends because of this little blog. (Don't be afraid to comment if this is your first time here; I love new faces!)

7. Maybe tell us some random facts!
My name is actually an Irish boys name that my parents thought of randomly before I was born.
I have slightly webbed toes (oops TMI?)
I have never (*knock on wood*) broken a bone

That's all about ME! Hope you learned something and decide to stick around this little blog of mine!
 Happy Friday to all!

Punctuality

Let's talk about being on time. (venting once again on this lil blog o' mine). Being on time is pretty important right? For your job, a date...just about everything! It seems like there are people that haven't quite learned just how important it is.

Yea, I have been late a handful of times. Yes, I have gotten used to my close friends ALWAYS been late when we have plans ( I leave ten minutes after I am supposed to just to counteract their tardiness). But when it comes to being late EVERY SINGLE DAY to a job that you have had less than 6 months (and the tardiness has been from the VERY beginning).

I work at a broadcasting company. It's a very LAID BACK environment which I love. If you're running late, text the boss. If you need the day off, easy peasy lemon squeezy. But you still want to make a good impression, correct? Not the case for a handful of women I work with.  They can't seem to make into work on time any day of the week. There is always some reason for their tardiness. They fall into three different categories:

1) " I had to take my toddler to daycare"
Well your kid has been going to the same daycare for the past 6+months, it hasn't changed locations so why don't you leave a little bit earlier? If I see you driving right next to me on the way to work and you have yet to drop off your child, that means you're running late! (Which just happened a couple days ago). If it's not the daycare it always some excuse with your child. I don't have kids but I do know that blaming them for your lateness doesn't seem very fair!

2) " I have a meeting"
The ladies I work with that seem to always been late are in sales so having a meeting is a valid excuse. (They go on countless meetings a week) but 9 times outta 10, their meetings are not going to be first thing in the morning. If you use the excuse on Tuesday that you had a meeting at 9am...don't try to use it again the next three days because it isn't going to work.

3) They don't even acknowledge they're late.
They walk in 30 mins late as if its nothing. Umm I'm pretty sure my boss wants me here at 8:30am so why are you dragging yourself in at 8:55 and its no biggie? Like I said up there ^^^ leave a little earlier and you wouldn't be late. what a concept

What boggles my mind the most is the fact that the manager/boss lady is one of the culprits so when her sales team is late, she blows it off like its not really a big deal. The only time she makes a fuss is when HER BOSS is going to be in the office. If you don't "punish" when they are late, they are going to continue to do it. Just like children, they won't learn because they don't know they are doing something wrong!

Another thing is the fact that these ladies get away with just about anything. One girl in particular has gotten so drunk (one time at the work Christmas party) a handful of times and doesn't show up to work the next day (or if she does its at 2pm). I am 23 years old. I have had my fair share of drunken nights and hung-over mornings. I am over that now. But I still enjoy going out from time to time. I know my limit. I have to wake up at 7am..so let's NOT take tequila shots at 3am..bad idea!  I went out just last night and I made sure that my happy butt was at my desk before 8:30 am!

The last and final thing that I don't think I will ever understand is the way that some of these girls dress. (that sounded bitchy didn't it?) I stay in the office all day so I can wear jeans and a hoodie (and I do from time to time) but most days I am wearing dress pants and a nice shirt. I want clients to see me as a professional and my boss to respect that I am mature enough to put together a work appropriate outfit. These girls...not so much. Your a size 0...you can wear just about anything and it will look good on you...and somehow you manage to look like a train wreck. Your skirt/dress is way too short and you're not even matching. Are those high heels uncomfortable? I can tell because you're hunched over and limping. (*what*) And don't get me started on the fact that you have BEDHEAD! You brushed the front of your hair ( or so I think?) but you managed to forget the back of your head for some reason?

I am a young adult who has had a job since I was 15 years old. I believe I know how to be mature, professional and of course, punctual. You don't get respect from your employers when you show up late every day and look like a hot mess. I hope that young women learn that being on time and looking the part will make a world of difference when it comes to the relationships you have, whether it be work, friends or romantic. I sure has heck will make sure my future daughter does.

Can YOU get off my internets...?

Bloggin' again? Who am I?! I am starting to get a little better at this whole thing and I am loving it.

Now on to what I wanted to discuss today...the site GOMI (or getoffmyinternets.com). I was reading Not Before My Tea last week and she was jokingly talking about how she wanted to be on the site. She brought it up again today about how she didn't agree with the site and she truthfully would not want to be on it...EVER!

What is GOMI? It's a website where ladies (and probably some gentlemen) talk badly about bloggers. There are forums divided into "Healthy Living Bloggers", "Fashion Bloggers" etc. and then they just trash talk each blog. IT'S HORRIBLE! I went onto the site after seeing it on a couple other blogs and was intrigued by what these people would actually have to say about some of the blogs I read on a daily basis. What blows my mind is the fact that the people on this site follow these blogs (or at the very least, read them each day), follow them on twitter, instagram etc. just to bash them! They are caddy and spend time outta their day to nit pick every little thing. When will people learn that we are suppose to stick together and give each other confidence, not tear each other down? Yes we all love to gossip and I don't know if that's ever going to change but at the very least, we could not do it on an online platform.

The other thing about this website that blows my mind is the fact that its not just a couple comments here and there...there are sometimes HUNDREDS that go on for a span of a year or so. And commenters are so happy with themselves when they right a mean comment and when someone comes into the forum and has some NICE to say, they all gang up on that person too! It is unlike anything I have ever seen. These women (who I am guessing are not teenagers) spend their days just finding little things that these women who are just like them (these bloggers aren't celebs; they are normal ladies who decided to start a blog) did wrong (the way they dress, the way they write, who they are dating blah blah blah) and publicly ridicule them!

Hey guess what? Don't like a bloggers outfit? KEEP IT TO YOURSELF! We don't all dress like models on a daily basis and your probably sitting on your couch in pajamas so don' t judge!  Don't like something they wrote about? Send them a private email to discuss it or maybe comment on their blog (the blog that you are looking over with a fine tooth comb anyway.) Why do these people feel the need to public bash on these women; the women who are putting themselves out there for the world to see and don't need a group of women to sit behind a computer screen and be BULLIES because that's exactly what these people are BULLIES!!

The last thing I have to say about this site before I try to forget it even exisited is: PUT YOURSELF IN THEIR SHOES! How many of these women on GOMI are bloggers then themselves? Probably not many. Try doing what they do and then maybe you wouldn't be so quick to judge them. Get a life and GET OFF MY INTERNETS!

Currently...

I have been doing so good on this whole blogging thing..it makes me oh so happy! I thought today would be a perfect time for a little update/currently I am...

Listening/Watching - I just finished watching this video of Mackelmore/Madonna's performance last time at the Grammy's. I didn't watch any of the Grammy's but I heard so much about this part that I needed to watch it. You need to watch it if you haven't already. So beautiful!

Four-time Grammy winner Macklemore performed "Same Love" with Ryan Lewis at the Grammys Sunday.

Eating - Just finished a breakfast sandwich from Dunkin' Donuts that was oh so tasty but probably not the best for me. oops

Drinking - An un-sweet iced tea (w/ Splenda) from Dunkin'. I am not a coffee drinker so this is my go-to drink in the morning!

Reading - Besides the computer screen? Nothing and not happy about it. I love reading and I just can't seem to find a good book to read lately. Any ideas?

Feeling - All sorts of feelings. I am happy with life but the everyday struggles of money, work, etc. take  a toll on you after awhile. Being a grown-up is hard but I have to face the hardships to reap the rewards right?

Weather - Gainesville weather has been perfect lately. I love the cold weather but not sure I would deal with the snow and negative temps like some parts of the country are experiencing. This is what I am dealing with for the next couple days and I am LOVING IT!

Wanting - to go on a shopping spree? to not be stressing about the little things in life? to go a vacation?

Cooking/Baking- I didn't do much cooking/baking this weekend since the boyfriend was away but I hope to cook as much as possible this week. I need so more go-to recipes to try out instead of using the same few I have.

Looking Forward to- The end of the work day when I can change into sweats, put my hair up and just relax. My job is very easy and laid back but I still enjoy going home to the boy and my pup and just doing a little bit of nothing.

Wishing- that it was Feb. 22nd...ugh!

Loving- my amazing family, friends for everything they do for me and especially the boyfriend. Without getting sappy and mushy, he really does make me smile and is the perfect shoulder to lean on when I need it. Don't know what I would do without any of these people in my life.

Five on Friday

Time for FIVE ON FRIDAY!!

1) I have not started 2014 on the right foot at all. I need to start eating better and working out more. I keep telling myself that I am having a "cheat day" but that turns into a whole week! Ugh got to be a be more motivated and get my butt moving!
2) The boy does so many amazing things for me but I love the little surprises like breakfast in bed on a lazy Sunday or bringing me flowers just because! He never fails to make me smile :)
3) The cold weather here in Florida has been AMAZING! Not sure I would be able to handle the -9 degrees or worse that my brother is feeling in New York but I love the chilly 35 degree morning and cold nights that allow us to have bonfires with some great friends.
4) I just got this bracelet at Aeropostale a couple days ago.(Can't seem to find it on their website) I am in love with minty colors lately and its so simple I can weather with a lot of outfits but adds a bit of *bling* that I like.
5) I am debating if I want to grow to keep my hair short like the first pic which was taken like a week ago or grow it out long like the second pic which was taken like 6 months ago. I like it short because its easy to manage and gives me more volume but I LOVED how my hair looked when it was super long. Decisions , decisions.

That's all I have for today. Have a great weekend and stay warm!!

Year in Review: 2013

Well, well, well. Here I am again...gracing this blog with my presence after being away for over 2 months. But did anyone really notice? *cricket chirps*...didn't think so! Well anyways I am going to do my year in review (almost a month behind schedule) and hopefully start 2014 being better at this whole blogging thing!

Spent NYE out & about Gainesville with some amazing people.
Soaked up as much time as I could with my cousins before they left to head back to Australia.

Photo: Ladies night! #creeperinthecorner #futureroomies
Spent Valentine's Day as a single girl with some friends (one of which I don't speak to anymore)
Photo: Wishing safe travels to the best friend a girl could ever have. I can't believe you're gonna be so far from me since we have been within ten minutes of each other since we were 8yrs old. So proud of you and can't wait to hear of all your amazing travels in Europe. Can't wait to see you again soon. Love you boo boo!
Said good-bye to my best friend of 15+ years as we moved to Europe *sad face*
Thought I knew where I would living in the next couple months and how life was going to be in 2013 but ALL that changed.

                                            Photo
I met this guy.
Who would have thought that after everything I went through in 2012
that I would be in a relationship again.

Celebrated Roxi's first birthday! (Can't believe she's going to be two soon!)

Celebrated my 23rd birthday!
Signed a lease on a house (oh how that would be a mistake!)

Kind of a low key month.
Celebrated one year of adopting my pup Roxi.
Went out a lot with friends.

Started a new job as a Sales Assistant. (still serving on the weekends). It was a change of pace but I have to say it was the best decision I could have ever made!
Remember that lease I signed and those friends I am no longer close with? Well this is the month that I decided living with them would be the wrong idea so I subleased my room (that I had not yet moved into) and distanced myself from negativity.

Started looking for a new place to live within my budget that was still suitable for an energetic dog.  Sean was moving to Gainesville, and we made the HUGE decision to live together even though we had only been dating for FOUR MONTHS! (it was scary but I wouldn't change it for the world)

Moved into our new apartment and made it into our home :)

Family came to visit and help set up the new place.
Celebrated Sean's 28th birthday.

Was a busy month for my job with all the events we put on at work.
Family came to visit again

Went to Halloween Horror Nights (don't know why I torture myself each year)
Saw Florida Georgia Line in Concert
Went out for Halloween with the boytoy and my best friend.

Celebrated Thanksgiving with Sean's family.
Photo: Happy holidays! thank u Kenyon Rath ! I love u so much for your unconditional support and love,I could never b without u!
As you can tell...the boyfriend was SPOILED!!
Did some Black Friday shopping for the first time in Gainesville
(usually I am back home in Miami for it)

Finally went back to my hometown after being away for 9+ months.
 (Sean's first time there)
Celebrated Christmas with my family and enjoyed the time off from work.
Photo
Went to Jacksonville for NYE and had a blast with some of our good friends!

2013 was a great year. Had its ups and downs of course but I met some amazing people, started a great job and got to do a lot of things that I never would have thought I would. Can't wait for 2014 to be EVEN BETTER!!
